Fed chief Ben Bernanke recently pledged to spend hundreds of billions of newly-created dollars to buy bonds.
His goal: To drive interest rates down.
Instead, they’ve gone straight UP — making everything from mortgages to corporate loans more expensive. And also making it virtually impossible for many consumers and small businesses to get the loans they need to survive — let alone to expand — at ANY price.
Yet I think this is just the beginning of the storm, especially with city and state governments all over the country nearing bankruptcy!
