General Information

History of the banks of Raiffeisen Group dates back to the mid-19 th century, when the first co-operatives or Benevolent Fund, supported the peasants during the famine and economic hardship. The founder of the Raiffeisen Group was Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen. In 1862 he created the first cooperative bank in Anhauzene (Germany), which became the prototype of Raiffeisen banks. The first Raiffeisenbank was open in Austria in 1886, and after ten years the number of banks in Austria has exceeded 600. Currently, Raiffeisen Banking Group is the largest banking group in Austria, it has the most extensive branch network in the country and represents about a quarter of all banking business in Austria. "Parent" company Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG owns more than 2/3 of the international holding company Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG, which controls subsidiary banks, leasing companies and other financial institutions around the world.

Shareholders

Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG is a public company and its shares are traded on major stock exchanges around the world. The main shareholder is Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG.
